The Prayer - Bring Him Home (by SkippyPylon)

Already reblogged this once (and of course can’t find it now) but it needs to be on my blog again. Because it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard and one of the most breathtaking performances I’ve ever seen onstage (twice!). I literally can’t hear it without crying, or at least getting goose bumps. The “he is young/he is only a boy” part gets me every time, for some reason. And the ending, oh my God. CHILLS, I tell you. I think she might have heard me fangirling when it ended in Nashville, because I was the first person to cheer and then she looked in my general direction and pointed and said thank you. OMG, how am I ever supposed to go back to regular seating after being in the front row? I just can’t do it. It’s inhumane to even ask me to.I love that all she has to do to give an amazing performance is just stand there and sing, too. No special effects, no backup singers/dancers, etc. Nothing but her and a spotlight and that voice. My favorite performer/human being of all-time is fucking flawless, okay? I will physically fight you if you try to tell me otherwise.
